Gathering Footage

While the setting is breathtaking and the level of performance showcased at the Dillon Amphitheater is world class, the facilities lacked many amenities to properly support the staff and patrons. sDC was commissioned to examine the shortcomings of the existing infrastructure and offer recommendations for short and long term cost-effective improvements.

In 2022 the amphitheater hosted 17 paid shows and 21 free shows in addition to movies, yoga and other community events. Much of the original design intent had been outgrown or did not anticipate the rapid success and growth of the amphitheater.

Studiotrope used timelapse videography to capture dozens of hours of operations during five different shows inthe 2022 season. These shows represented a good sampling of the spectrum of events offered at this location. Analyzing the footage resulted in clarity of where the problems reside and how best to address these issues. Studiotrope interviewed staff, patrons, administrators, promoters, and operators to acquire lived experience feedback. This data, along with the video footage, informed the recommendations for the needed amphitheater improvements.
